SHOCKWAVE BY MACROMEDIA Shockwave is a tool for web developers to deliver interactive multimedia, graphics, and streaming audio to users via the World Wide Web. In the Lunar Prospector web site, we use Shockwave to deliver a timetable that outlines past and future missions to the moon as a self-contained panel within the web page. The Shockwave-generated panel is too large to fit within the frame alloted to it on the page; however, the user can "drag" the timeline panel using a mouse to view the various parts of the timeline. In addition, Shockwave is also used in the Lunar Prospector web page to generate an interactive explanation of the various phases of the moon as seen on Earth.         REALPLAYER BY PROGRESSIVE NETWORKS RealPlayer provides real-time RealAudio and RealVideo streaming content on the Web. In the Lunar Prospector web page, the visitor can use RealPlayer to view archival movies made by NASA on the various Apollo missions to the moon. The visitor also can use RealPlayer to access video interviews with a number of scientists working on the Lunar Prospector project as well as animated movies about the project.         APPLE QUICKTIME PLUG-IN BY APPLE COMPUTER, INC. The Apple QuickTime plug-in enables the user to play QuickTime animation, music, MIDI, audio, video, and VR panoramas and objects directly in a Web page. In the Lunar Prospector page, the visitor can use Apple QuickTime to obtain panoramic views of the Lunar Prospector spacecraft. By using the mouse to "drag" the image of the spacecraft in the page, the visitor can "rotate" the spacecraft and view it from various angles.         INTERVU PLAYER BY INTERVU The InterVU Player enables users to play industry-standard MPEG audio-video file without using specialized MPEG hardware decoders and without proprietary video servers.         ADOBE ACROBAT READER The free Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader allows you to view, navigate, and print PDF files across all major computing platforms. Acrobat Reader is the free viewing companion to Adobe Acrobat 3.0 and to Acrobat Capture(R) software.             WorldView 2.0 WorldView 2.0, the fastest 3D plug-in for Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, gives Windows 95 and Macintosh users the ability to view VRML (virtual reality modeling language) files over the Internet.
